A word about security

We try to maintain the highest level of security you can find. Currently we have 8 layers of security to help stop hackers, comment spammers and email harvesters before they ever reach your site. Keith, our owner and Senior Network Engineer, brings to the table many years of experience in the security field. After programming and securing the control rooms of institutions such as Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS) in Arizona back in the late 80s, he took his knowledge into the private sector. His design of our proprietary adaptive security system adjusts its threat response based on realtime conditions it monitors across our servers and firewalls 24/7.

However, although the security system monitors/scans every file uploaded to our cloud by clients and automatically kills potential threatening executables by actual code fingerprint regardless of file name, as well as scanning all incoming and outgoing files and emails for viruses, malware and trojans, we cannot protect clients from themselves completely. You must do your part to keep your site secure from the visitor end by keeping all web scripts up-to-date and using secure passwords. You should also consider using .htaccess and .htpasswd to protect any admin folders or any folder which may contain confidential information. You can also set passwords on folders from inside your cPanel.

But rest assured that if one account gets accessed by an outside threat, that is where it ends. There is no way for them to cross boundries and move freely through the systems accessing other accounts or core server functions due to strategically placed tripwires and boobytraps. They will only have access to that single account until the security issue is resolved. We post announcements on our home page of Softaculous updates and the servers will email you when a new update is available for any scripts it has installed to your account. These need to be done immediately to apply security patches and version updates to keep you secure. If you are running a WordPress installation, be sure to use the Bullet Proof Security plug-in.

If you have any security questions or concerns at any time, contact us. We will be very glad to help. With the ever changing landscape of internet and network security, there is no such thing as a dumb question. Never hesitate to ask. The site you save may be your own.
